ABOUT JORDAN LEONARD

Jordan Leonard is a pop music producer and mix engineer based in Sydney, Australia whose greatest joy is bringing to life the artistic vision of others.

Starting out in rock and metal, he eventually found a home and passion in electronic pop music. The freedom of expression of pop production and how that can be executed with great vocals and a great mix became his obsession.

He explored life as an artist as one half of the electronic pop duo Boulevarde but eventually moved into production for other artists. He has since worked with artists such as the No Frills Twins, Little Green, AYA YVES and Sammi Constantine and has also composed music for Platoon, Felt Music and National Geographic.

In 2024, Jordan co-founded Tilt Recording Studio with his friend and co-creator WCB. A safe space located in Sydney's inner west where artists can capture their songs.

MY PHILOSOPHY

Vocal First

In pop music production the vocal is the most important element. This is why my approach is very much to build everything around the vocals.

This way the production's function is to support the vocal and the story it is telling. Only drawing focus when its supposed to.

Progressive Mixing

I tend to mix as I go. At every stage I make sure that a sound is as close as possible to how it will sound at the end of the process.

This means that when we're near the end I will just need to tweak the mix, rather than start from the beginning.

Art is Never Finished

I pride myself on my ability to be decisive. In a digital world where it is possible to have an infinite amount of sounds and possibilities, it is more important than ever to make confident decisions.

I help artists realise their vision for their art and get it to a point where they are happy to release it into the world.
